  • “Wall.E”

    1. In “Notting Hill”, Julia Roberts told Hugh Grant that she was just a girl loving a boy and asking the boy to love her in return. This is exactly what I feel about Wall.E. Wall.E is cute because he does everything whole-heartedly. He has the problem of all humans. Once one has the sense of the self, one will ask if one has company. Wall.E tells everyone his name right after he meets the person or the robot. This urge for companion is primitive but essential to life. A person without companion is dry. Whether Eve loves Wall.E is beyond Wall.E’s control. Having someone you like to attend to is a kind of blessing. Having someone attending you is another kind of blessing. Having someone you like to attend and being attended by the same person is a double kind of blessing but the synergetic effect is more than double. Wall.E is only a boy loving a girl and asking the girl to love him in return. But I wonder when and how Eve becomes aware of her self.

    2. Humans are so pathetic! They becomes a piece of meat lying on the couches. But the beauty of humanity is that there must be some unpredictable elements. Life is more interesting because of this unpredictability.

    3. This is the last 3-D cartoon purely produced by Pixar. The production team started their storyboard skeletons of all the wonderful creations like “Toy Story”, “Monster Inc.”, “Finding Nemo”, “The Incredibles”, “Cars”, “Wall.E”, etc in one afternoon when they had their coffee break in a coffee shop. They drew the sketches on several pieces of napkin. Then they scheduled for their production. I cannot imagine how creative the original production team were. But “Wall.E” is the last in this series of creations from the coffee shop. The next 3-D cartoon will be more black-and-white (Good-against-evil-like) as Disney has bought Pixor.

    4. If only we can have the capacity to see everything in a childlike perspective. Being excited by tiny little things makes our life more colourful. The colour of my life is fading. This is a plain fact as I become older and older.
