The craziest month of a teacher’s year-round working life is November. There are even more work in December but you will be indifferent if you have already been stretched to the critical point. Before I go to Shanghai for Christmas, I have to balance my psychological well-being with some kinds of rewards. Good food is definitely a kind of treat. This is why I went to Outback after work tonight.

Outback is the only American steak house I appreciate. First, I consider steak houses as some places full of guilt. Too many calories! Second, the term “American” is equivalent to “dry” and “big” in dictionaries of food. But Outback, although disguised as an Australian restaurant, serves delicious food. My favourite is still the Chocolate Thunder From Down Under. Who can resist the temptation?

In addition, I find that the steak at Outback is very juicy. My favourite is the centre-cut fillet. I only need 6oz each time as I am so greedy to consume as many kinds of food as I can. I always ask for plain vegetables without butter as the side order. Double mushroom gravy. With a glass of premium red wine, the fragrance of the beef can be fully enhanced. As the piece of tender beef releases its juice in your mouth, you would think that you were in heaven. Before the steak, I like the house salad with honey mustard. The salad itself is a dish from mass production. Vegetable, cheese and croutons are put on a plate and then stored in the refrigerator. You can feel the coldness of the plate. But the warm honey mustard is the miracle. It gives some speechless effect to the salad.

However, when everyone talks about the steak, the lamb chop and the salmon, something served on a cutting board is always neglected but the taste of it is much better than the same kind of food in other restaurants. It is the honey rye bread. I always skip the butter because the bread itself has already been a piece of art in taste. A piece of hot bread. When it is put into the mouth, the sweetness attacks your taste buds. The fragrance of the freshly baked bread loaf fills your olfactory system. A kind of happiness will be swallowed with the mouthful of bread. It also gives you the signal that you have just started a series of delicious food.

I still feel exhausted right now. But I also feel refreshed. Outback is certainly the outback of the battlefield of daily life.
